# Calendars (/docs/capabilities/calendars)

`calendar` is a canonical capability, not a dedicated provider API or a promise of a built-in calendar/attendance UI.

Implement provider-specific HTTP and authentication inside the addon. Existing extension points include connection authenticators, commands, menus, settings and local suggestions. External event/attendance record types belong to the addon. Explicit user decisions and operation identities are required when converting these records to local time entries.
